Aquatics

Included in with your membership, The Lifestyle Center offers two indoor heated pools, the 25-yard lap pool and the warm water (WW) therapy pool. Both pools are open to members. Please be advised that all members swim at their own risk. Aquatic classes take precedents over other aquatic activities during designated class times.

Aquatic Personal Training

Class Descriptions

ABC's

A strength and conditioning class targeting abs, balance, and core. A cardio segment is included. All fitness levels.

Aqua Fit

High-intensity class for improving cardiovascular fitness and overall tone. Recommended for those in good physical condition.

Aqua Fusion

A unique blend of Water Yoga, Ai Chi, balance and core stability training. Class is designed to relax, stretch and strengthen your entire body.

Aquatics 101

Designed to inform about the properties of water and the benefits of exercising in the water. Class covers proper technique when using equipment, ways to vary intensity levels and more. This class is both educational and functional. Participants must sign up 624-3421.

Basic Training

High intensity fitness class designed to enhance cardiovascular fitness as well as muscular strength. A non-stop class format that uses a variety of aerobic combinations and equipment.

F. I. T. [Fitness Interval Training]

F.I.T. combines strength training with cardiovascular intervals. This class will focus on challenging your balance, stability and core strength. Utilizes a wide varitety of aquatic equipment, this class is essential for strengthening and conditioning your core.

Group Swim Lessons [LTS - Learn To Swim] $$$ Pre-registration required

For ages 6 months to 9 years of age. The Lifestyle Center provides a comprehensive, structured Learn to Swim program for every skill level. Each participant is independently screened and placed in the appropriate class according to age and skill level. Your child will be given two weeks of fun and engaging lessons from Visalia’s finest instructors. Call 624-3421 for more information and child placement. Call 624-3408 to pre-register.

Maternity-in-Motion [M-n-M]

For women in all stages of pregnancy. All fitness levels welcome. Individualized intensity level. Physician’s release required. Please contact 624-3421 to register for the class. Two or more participants required.

Specialized Aquatic Exercise I

Endorsed by the American Arthritis Foundation. Low to mild intensity levels that help improve flexibility and function, while decreasing pain and stiffness. Ideal for seniors and persons with limiting physical conditions.

Specialized Aquatic Exercise II

Exercises from mild to moderate intensity to help improve flexibility and function. Ideal for seniors and persons with limiting physical conditions.

Stroke Technique

Designed for the adult swimmer interested in improving stroke technique, cardio and endurance. The Monday night class will focus on cardio and endurance. The Wednesday night class will focus on technique.

Supervised Swim

An opportunity to practice general swim skills and techniques in a supervised environment. Ages 5 to 16. Must be able to swim 25 yards (1 pool length), need approval from aquatic staff, and based on swim skill level.

Swim Kids

This class is for the beginner swimmer to practice basic swim skills. An instructor will be present to offer guided activities to help parents assist their child in learning basic water safety and skills. A parent must attend with the child and be in the water with them at all times. This class is 30 minutes.

Walk & Stretch

Low to no impact exercises to improve overall flexibility, range of motion, balance, strength, and condition levels in addition to decreasing general pain and stiffness. Excellent for beginners and seniors with limiting physical or rheumatic conditions.

Water-Cycling

Non-impact, high intensity, fitness class great for improving cardiovascular fitness and overall tone. Requires being suspended in deep water with a flotation belt.

Water Weights

Fantastic resistance training workout utilizing aquatic resistance equipment for strength, and conditioning exercises. Recommended for those in good physical condition.

WW Aqua Fit

Moderate intensity fitness class in the warm water pool great for improving cardiovascular fitness and overall tone.
* Requires testing of skills and clearance from aquatic staff to participate in this class.

Hydrostatic Weighing

is the first Saturday of every month. During the this time the Therapy Pool is unavailable from 8am – 12pm

Aquatics 101

the first Wednesday of the month from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. Minimum class size required. Registration required. Call 624-3421.

Kidz Klub

is an after school program for kids run through the activities department. Please contact 624-3416 for more information.

Kids Night Out

3rd Friday every month. Fun night for kids including a movie, dinner, swimming fun and much more.

Stroke & Turn Clinics

2nd Saturday of every month from 9:30am – Noon. Each month will emphasize a different stroke. Contact the Aquatics Department for more information 624-3421.
