Fitness Profile

Medical Fitness Profile (Allow 30 minutes)

After reviewing your health history, one of our certified medical assistants will measure your height, weight, resting heart rate, and blood pressure.  You may also take advantage of the cholesterol and blood glucose screening at no additional cost.  This will require a small sample of blood (finger stick) and we recommend at least a 3-hour fast.     This is a non-diagnostic screening.  Members with abnormal results will be asked to follow-up with their primary physician.

Fitness Profile and Program Design (Allow 1.5 hrs)

Two appointments in one to get you started on the right path for YOU!  During this appointment, an Exercise Physiologist will take you through several fitness assessments to determine your “starting point”.
Your Fitness Profile may include all or some of the following components:

  • Resting heart rate and blood pressure
  • Sub maximal treadmill or bike test to measure cardiovascular endurance
  • Muscular strength and endurance
  • Flexibility
  • Body composition

Upon completion of your Fitness Profile the Exercise Physiologist will design an exercise program, accommodating for your health and fitness needs.  You will be shown proper use of the cardiovascular and strength equipment appropriate for you at this time.  Our goal is always to give you a safe, effective, and personalized program while answering all your questions.

Periodic Updates

You will receive a postcard reminder in the mail when it's time to check your progress. We recommend a Fitness Profile and Program Update every 3 to 4 months. These periodic updates help keep you focused on the long-term goal while warding off boredom and exercise plateaus.

Metabolic Assessments... Train Smarter, not Harder!

The Lifestyle Center's New Leaf Metabolic System can help you achieve superior results with an individualized plan based on your specific metabolism.

Measuring your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) is a simple 15-minute assessment.  Your only responsibility is to breathe normally while resting in a reclined position.  The New Leaf system provides the highest level of accuracy to determine your daily caloric expenditure. The information gained from the RMR is truly the foundation for a complete weight management program.

Exercise metabolic testing, once only available to professional athletes provides the exercise physiologist with very specific information about how efficient your body is burning calories for energy.  You will receive a 12-week cardiovascular training schedule based on your most efficient heart rate zones.

Various packages ranging from $99 to $259 are now available.  Please call the Exercise Physiology Department for pricing information at (559) 624-3450.
